Stargate SG1: Recently Gone Up In My Ratings

So until a few weeks ago it was either Ally McBeal or Oz that I watched on TV. I'm not really in much of Sci-Fi programmes on TV but I havent missed an episode of the new series of Stargate. Maybe I'll be joining one of the Stargate SG1 cults soon. Tell me what you think of the program.... does it deserve that much of my attention? [Like it'll even matter] Gotta go now... SG1 starts in 3 minutes... he he.

Cisco Networking Course: Maybe I'll Get On

Monoux College has just been made a Cisco Networking Academy. The first students that get on the course get on free. This means every student [well maybe not all] in my college wants to get on the course. Thing is with a CCNA certificate you and good grades in the A Levels you become quite a sought after comodity for the Universities. Plus you can actually make some money.... almost big money if you land a job in Networking soon. But there are only 15 places

So it was up to Harvey Baxter and Barry Brown to get the list down from hundreds to just a few. I just got a letter this morning:

Cool... that means I'm probably down to the last 50 or sum'in close. And come Monday... guess who's gonna be first to book for an appointment. For now though, I'm going off to do some research on CISCO. I'll need it on Wednesday.

Watch Out For Version 2

I'm getting bored with these colors and navigation. You'll be seeing FAF On The Web version 2 sometime in the next month or so. I'm not very keen on changing everything that's why it might take that long. I've decided on the design already and I have a template. I'm still looking at how to make it work along side my comments system and xisting scripts.

There's so much wrong with this version that I havent bothered to fix 'cos ppl tell me it looks good. So if you want me to keep changing stuff then u gotta tell me about only the things you see that arent OK. Alright... "American History X": FAF Recommends.

I watched this movie on the recommendation of Emerald @ghanachat. This movie was one of the best I've ever seen. No aliens attaching themselves to ur spine and sucking your blood out. No commandoes in a shoot-out with a small 'Nam amrmy that keep getting up and fighting. No cars exploding.

Just pure racial prejudice and hatred. And what it makes us do. American History X, I'll recommend you find it [or NOT switch the channel next time it's on TV]

Interview Gone Well

I had the Cisco Networking Interview yesterday. Seems like it went quite well. I may get on, I think 'cos they specifically threatened to kick me off the course if I miss lessons or come in late more than a coupla times. They seemed to've dun their homework 'cos I'm very guilty of turning up late. Ghana Man Time (GMT) at work even in England huh? Guess it never stops following you around.... the curse of being late.

PS: I havent talked to Marian in almost a week. Miss you bunches ... I know u're reading. And oh.. them jokes u sent me... hilarious! But tell me... who's been telling u such jokes?

String of Bad Luck About to Start Again

Sometimes things happen that I cant post here. Probably 'cos It involves other people and in a way that wont make any sense at all if no names are mentioned. Today one of those things happened.

Makes me wish I had one of those iMood things. Where you post how exactly you're feeling on the net... I'm normally not happy anyway 'cos it seems the whole world is like something I've been thru... monotonous in a wierd sense no matter what i'm doing... always feeling down in one way or the other and so I dont need one of those iMoods. But when something like this happens... when the feeling goes from bad to worse.... I think I'll need one of those iMoods. That's why between typing and publishing this post I got one that will tell just xactly how i'm feeling

I cant tell you who/what made me feel so but the person who's dun it will probably see this and know how you made me feel.

It's Started, For Real...

After what prompted me to write the last post... though i said the bad luck was starting for me again, i wasnt quite sure. That is, until i left for home and got that stuff in the envelope. Same thing happened a coupla months ago that promted me to post someting similar [archives link]

This one is very bad. Not worse than the one lastnite... but more clear and present. My mind's racing trying to think of ways and means to get outta this one. I cant mention anything here in case it's used against me later. I'm putting the version 2 off for a while. I have 3 weeks to deal with the more present problem then i'll see what I can come up with. Wish me good luck... I'll really need it. And some rest i'll need that too.

Version 2: ASP, PHP, CGI and more Scripting Language Coming Your Way

I've decided to put Version 2 on hold. Reasons: Two of them can be found in the last two posts. Though I'd already started working on a template [here] for Version 2, I've decided to give it away for some other project I'm working on. A coupla Accra Academy old students and I have come together to create a website for all old students of the school. Since the project was moving quite too fast for me to come up with a design I'm giving this template away.

I wasnt being just generous there though 'cos there are some things i dont like abt that template anyway. The layout is ok but some of the Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) handles i tried to use arent supported in even Internet Xplorer 5.0. And looking at my sites stats... the mojority of people who come here use IE5.0 and I wudnt like to give them half an XPerience. So I'm gonna keep it simple ... maybe I'll even be bother to make it NOTscape compatible. Hard luck tho

Talking abt XPerience, I just tried out the Internet Information Server (IIS) in my *pirate version* of Windows XP Professional. I run some Active Server Pages (ASP) on it... and I think I'm beginning to love it. So much more reason to give away that dumb template. Thanks to Spider for coaxing me into trying it

Now that I can run my own test server i'll be practising more of CGI and SSI .... might take longer than I said before about a version two but i know when I finally come out of all those tutorial sessions.... U'll be having a really good XPerience on the site. Only catch though is that, I found my version of Windows ME and '98 [*both pirate*] do not have Personal Webserver....

The African Mp3 List Has Been Restored. I didnt have that in backup... so it was by some stroke of luck that I knew someone's who'd been on that page not long ago and mailed me to ask abt how to download them.... I wrote to him and asked him to check his temporary internet files..... So much for thinking my server was so secure.

I've also restored the stylesheet so the site shdnt be as messed up as it was lastnite. My Splash page will be restored later when I upload the Flash Movies..... My Guestbook wasnt affected it's xternally hosted... so leave your messages of condolence there. :(

In The Midst Of Disaster

Even when I thought everything was going downhill.... two things have lifted my spirits.... [whatever that means]. I got some good news lastnite checking ma mail..... good enough to warrant going to iMood to change my mood. That's fixed [i hope] one of the problems.... two more to go.

And Oh... I got on the Cisco Networking course.... I got a call from the college this morning. When the woman from the guidance unit told me I got on... in went "Woo Hoo"... she cudnt help laughing thru the rest of the call. I have an interview scheduled for the 29th of October.... where all the 15 people that got on the course will meet together for the 1st time.

[sighs] That one was for the relief. I'll be OK.... but I still have two more probs to deal with.... the *unmentionables*

My First Dean Koontz Book

Lastnite...should probably say this morning 'cos it was at 1am. Well this morning I was browsing the movie channels when I was this title: "The Servants Of Twilight". Now this is the first Dean Koontz novel I read... I really got me hooked on him and started the whole thing of reading everything he'd ever written. It seemed to be following the books' script for most of the time that I watched it but it was getting too late and I had to go sleep.

Having Fun Runnig My Own Server

I'm runnig my own WWW Server using IIS on Windows XP.... I'installed PHP and I'm gonna download PERL and other plugins soon.... I'm looking at using greymatter soon and discarding blogger but of course i have to think twice abt this since blogger keeps copies of my posts on their server whiles greysoft will be solely managed by me... which means IF i get hacked again, I wont have nuttin to republish. The only thing that's got me wanting to change to GreyMatter is the thought of my site growing bigger nd bigger and then one day blogger being taken over by some company that wants to charge us to use thier service.. then I'll lose all my stuff cos I probably wont pay to use it. Wheras with grey soft... since i manage all the files, All they can charge for is if more advanced and new codes are written. And then I'll be content with this the older version anyways.

College On Hold

I've got all of next week off... It's half term. But It wont be an easy one for me 'cos I'll be working my butt off again. Sorry for all those mails that have gone unanswered.... I'm really hard up for time. But when I come back on sometime... u'll hear from me. aiight! i'm out!!

I've been sitting here most of the day trying to make GrayMatter work... it seems to be working alright.... but it's not sending confirmation emails... something with using wrong cgi-bin paths. I know i'm gonna be told i'm being too technical again... but how esle can you describe "usr/bin/sendmail"? I'm not giving out the link to the graymatter site though cos i dont like being watched while i work.... I'll be working on the template over the next few weeks. I have to give u guys something new to looks at by December.

I really need to turn the computer off and go take a piss... [Damn... working with Windows XP is like swaet of ma ballz!! #whatever that means#] dont ask me i heard it on TV]. I need a bath too... I'm beginning to stink.... Actually I stink BAD!!.

Timbaland's Camp: Best There Is!!

Forget Dr Dre. Forget Suge Knight. Forget WyCleff Jean. Forget all those producers out there. Think Timbaland. Have you noticed how anything he producces sounds so good? Doesnt matter if you dont know the lyrics to the song or you dont like that genre of music.... you find urself bumping to his beats most of the time. True, it doesnt quite work for HIS own albums but that guy's probably the best producer out there. Being in his camp [or being affiliated some] probably means you're gonna have some big hit every now and then.

Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Destiny's Child, Magoo... probably too long a list if I tried going on google and look for them. Well all those mentioned above are in his camp or have had some songs produced by Timbaland and boy, do they rock!! Sadly Aaliyah had to die. Recently on the list is Bubba Sparxx with Ugly... if you dont believe me this song will convince you. You'll be bouncig to the beat and singing along to the chorus before the second verse starts. And when at the end they do that mixing with Missy Elliot's Get Ur Freak On... he he... you'll wish for it to be rewinded.

I know I've been a bit too technical over the past few days but that's the only way I can be when the stuff I'm doing is quite a bit too technical. So here we go again:

I tried out using |GreyMatter| and it seems to work alright xcept for occasional hanging up when trying to rebuild all the files after changing the template. What I cant risk somethingl like that happening when I'm trying to change a template after months of posting and a hangup like that occuring and destroying some of my posts. So I'm gonna stick with my Blogger as Rachel suggested, but I'm gonna be using php when I do "upgrade" to FAF On The Web version 2 which by the way will be called ¤dotFAF¤. Yeah a name change an' all after getting hacked... just like P. Diddy. Sucks eh?

So the tech-talk is already putting u off huh? Alright I'm dun anyway... now I'm gonna switch to rant-talk or something close.

Flash and Gallery Thumbnails Back on

The Flash Intro's that were deleted and the image gallery are back on. The only thing is that I uploaded the thumnails of the pictures which are smaller and easier to download. This means you cannot as yet click the images in the gallery to enlarge them. You'll only see the thumbnails and the descriptions.... sorry but I'll fix the rest when I have more time on my hands.

The Discriminated now Discriminating?

I've got this friend in college. Kingsley. Cool guy. Likes to pretend he knows stuff when he has the barest of ideas... just like me. Likes to turn up late to lessons... just like me. Likes to sit in the student's center and look at girls thru the glass walls... unlike me [really!!].

Today he told me for the second time how and why he'll never go out with a fat girl, make out with one or even contemplate smooching one. In his own words, "I can never have an erection for a fat girl". He he he... Ok I'm not gonna give you my stand on fat girls [and ugly girls] cos I know better than to say stuff like that on here. If i say I'll go out with a fat girl, someone out there might hold me to it. If I say I wont... I'll get my mailbox bombed like last time when I posted the American Airlines image. [Come to think of it... probably why I was hacked too] So I'll shut up on that.

Even so, That's not the point of this entry in my journal. Thing is... Kingsley is a lot of things that people discriminate against. You'd think he'll know better than to tell me stuff like that even if he thinks and believes them:

He's a Black in White people's eyes.
He's an African even in other Black people's eyes
He's Nigerian in other African people's eyes
He's crippled [not disabled] in both legs in everyone else's eyes

Quite a recipe for discrimination you got there.

Windows XP and Office XP... really an XPeriance!!

I finally got the professional versions of both Windows and Office XP with that activation thing blocked out. It's quite a treat. I've used Windows ME and thought it was the *shits* but I'll swear on my hairy bum that those XP things have beaten all. It's so good that it threatens to do away with any add-on programs that you'll normally run with and Opreating system. Like with Winamp, Winzip, and any CD burning software. Like it's predecessors both XP versions try to think ahead and see what you're trying to do, the only difference it that these XP versions succeed. It's so easy to burn music to a CD, view DVD movies, setup a network, publish files to an FTP site. Damn it's just so good for once I really believe the "Windows Just Got Better" banner that first appears when you're installing any Windows Operating System.

My Sis... she's a nurse. She's done some mental health as well as some pathology and a whole loada shit. I di he CV for her and the stuff she had to learn. Damn!! The names arent even pronounce-able [if that's a word]

Well anytime i have to go off to college i carry a pen in-between my thumb an first finger of my left hand and keep fidgeting with it. I've become so used to it that when i dont do that i feel like i'm leaving something behind and will go thru all my things trying to figure out what it is. Then i'll realise it. I never actully said anything to her but she studied me for a while and thinks I'm on my way to being a Compulsive Obsessive.

Is that cool or what??!! I'm on my way to being recognize as insane.... finally!! what took 'em so long

Faf Ybbraw in the nick

It kindda confuses ppl. I get ppl mailing me asking me who that Faf Ybbraw in the comments section is. Same and only me... I thought this name up back in '98 in the dormitory when I had to give a false name to a teacher to avoid punishment. Of course Faf in just my initials as u'll find in the overview section of -About Me- and existed way before '98. The "Ybbraw" came up cos i was reading so many of Dean Koontz's books and I wanted something outta the way like "Kootnz" to put down as a false name. So i thought of a body bart and "eyebrow" came up.... and I *cleverly* stylized in into "Ybbraw". So there you have it.

Reasong I changed the posted by [username] to "Faf Ybbraw" was that I performed some searches of my Nickname/Anonymous personality on google and so many sites came up with a link to me but when I checked my similar pages, non of 'em were on it. Then I realised I didnt have it anywhere on my site xcept in the comments section which are hosted on another server. I guess by making sure it appears here loads will make my site more similar to those that mention me in the eyes of the serach engine and drive more traffic here.

Also I'm looking at a way of useing... [here we go technical again]... using PHP to include the comments in pages on my site so that the search engines will cache thos comments as part of my site. Wont it be just cool?

PS: Actually I've finished making the PHP changes but since I've written so much an been linked to by so many sites.... I'll rather use the PHP changes and includes on "dotFAF version 2". Again i'm not giving u a link to any work-in-progress. sorry.

Waterworld... Without Kevin Costner

There was a leak in my bathroom and the water from the tanks have soaked into the wall and ended up in my room. The carpet was all soggy and squishy in some palces. I'd noticed it a few days ealier... the dampness but I thought someone had spilled a glass of water. And then lastnight when I left for home from ma bruv's.... there it was.

My mother called the emergency services and they quickly checked it out and found the source. Apparently if it hadnt seeped into my room that early and had stayed in the bathrrom [FYI: the rubber carpet in the bathroom was dripping wet underneath].... well if we hadnt found out quick enough.. the whole socket wud've come off and it'da been jus' like Waterworld with Kevin Costner.

We'da had a ruined carpet and some of my computer components which are on the floor; printer, CPU tower and some harware I dont use anymore that are in *storage* in a plastic bag, namely microphone, cables, 10GB Hard-drive, TV/Radio card, Line-in cables for Tape to CD recording.

I'da been real pissed.

F.A.Q : "Where Did You Get Your Windows XP From?"

So I'm getting people mailing me... txting me... calling me. Damn even coming to my house asking me where I got my Windows XP and Office XP versions from. Now look at me, you think I can afford to buy Windows XP Professional for £200+ and cough up an additional £250+ for Office XP Professional with Frontpage?? Almost £500 for an operating system and some software applications??

They're cool to use, granted. But damn... if i had that much money to spare I'd be on the first plane to Ghana this X'mas. Get myself the best holiday I can afford.

Ok so you guessed it... I didnt buy it... and I'm not a good person enough for someone to spend £500 on a gift-set for me... so it's a pirate. Works well though... nothing wrong with the installation all drivers up-to-date.

So all I can tell you it... I came from a source I cannot reveal. And hey... I read your mind... u're gonna ask me if I can take ur money and get you copies. [cough] [cough]... NO.

People Wont Give Up On Windows XP Questions

Ok ok... i give up [yeah right]. People wont stop asking where and how and when i got my windows XP and whether i can get them copies.

So i'm gonna say it once and for all... i cant give you anything. those of you asking for links to download sites... he he... that wasn't a download. trust me... if any site so much as offers the images on the installation CD for download they'll be shut down quicker than i can say "hack". For god's sake the Operating Sytem's been officially released not more than a week, and if i owned Microsoft i'll have abt 100 people scouting the net for download sites and hack 'em all. Yeah and i'll be right...

So y'all out there planning to offer it for download... i say thank ur stars i ain't Billy Goats i mean... errr... Bill Gates.

Route W7 Goes "Pay Before You Go"

A coupla days ago I read in a local newspaper about the W7 bus route going "Pay Before You Go". What this means is you gotta get ur ticket before you get on the bus. Previously you could buy a ticket from the driver as you boarded.

This is supposed to be a pilot scheme on just the W7 bus route so on reading abt it i assumed it wudnt be affecting me anytime soon since the W7 route isnt some place that i ply often[Woodgreen - Finsbury Park]. Guess what??... i assumed worng.

i had to get on that bus yesterday. My job agency sent me to Muswell Hill this morning. It was one of those early morning jobs... those you dont wanna go 'cos you'd rather be sleeping. Yesterday was the first morning back to college after the half-term break and being lazy as i am i didnt get my buspass during the weekend. Now rushing to get on the bus, i was kindda pissed at first when the driver wudnt take mt £10 note. Sometimes they complain abt not having change enuff an' shit like that and i didnt have any coins on me.

Thing is, they've got these new machines at the bus-stops that give no change back and take only coins. I was kindda running late. Damn.. u shda seen the look on my face.. i was tired, runnig late and the bus was taking off [if buses ever take off].

An old woman offered to gimme a pound to use on the machine after abt 2 minutes of digging in my pockets and wallet looking for the possible stray pound. When i did get on the bus afterall, i had delayed it for abt 3minutes.

Now the irony is that the "Pay Before You Go" scheme is supposed to make buses spend less time at bus-stops. Ha!! less time my foot! It's good they're making it a pilot scheme only... cos really is SUCKS!!

Mayor Livingston, if u're listening here..... ur scheme is no good, highly unlikey it's gonna work. The time's on the machines are wrong, the restrictions are too many and it's damn too slow.
