Yetunde? Living Dead?

Anyone know what Yetunde means? There's this Nigerian girl in my college called that. She told me once but i cant remeber... strangely, she's refusing to tell again.

I remember though that it's something to the effect of "Walking Dead".... or "Walking with beasts" [just kidding]... I'm not sure... it has something to do with living, walking, dead sumthing... but I cant remember.

And oh BTW, she said not mention her in my journal too. That's funny though cos she seems to read it a lot. She actually came here on Sunday [just after I added that entry about Amma]... and by 10am Monday, Amma had heard about "THE LINK".

Are you reading Yetunde? How's your friend Aisha* aka. Malaika** doing? Tell her she does justice to the head-scarf thing... all of a sudden I find it sexy. [ahem]

* Aisha is supposed to mean Life
** Malaika means Angel
She's the "Angel of Life"... cute.

Yetunde means mother returns. Traditionally you name a child this after the person who's passed away.

Yetunde does not mean living dead. If a child is named Yetunde, it is because a woman died before she was born. I'm not sure about anybody else. But in my case, my grandmother(Dad's mother) died a year b4 I was born. So It basically means that "The Mother Returns." And the same goes for guys also. If a Man(grandfather) dies, they'll name the boy Babatunde. 1
