Whaddya Call It?

When two people agree to go on a date and one party decides they dont wanna be there afterall, you call it a "stand up".... as in "He's been stood up"....

Now I asked this girl [whom i shall refer to as M for obvious reason] out to the cinema on Wednesday. I thought everything was ok... we planned where and when the day before, and i was gonna call her on Wednesday so we could agree to a rendez-vous. Turned out her mobile fone was turned off all that day. Maybe she was trying to avoid me... i dunno, I called her home fone once, her mom picked it up and said she was sleeping.

Sleeping? I was SO looking forward to it... seems she was really not bothered. Well i cancelled my plans for that day cos i JUST wasnt about to go out alone.

I've heard from M since and she really makes lightly of the incident... we only talked about it in passing and that was only because i asked.. the big question is... was i stood up? Is it still a "stand up" if i didnt actually go to the cinema? Another thing i wanna know is whether I, as a guy, woulda gotten away with this so easily?

Should i ask her out again? Or should i just go hide inside a hole and wither?

Le Coq Ne Sportif Pas, Afterall

If you havent been hearing from me of late, it's because of many reasons. One of them being that i'm taking my final exams. Another "not so major" reason it because i've been caught in the whole "festival of football" thing at the world cup in Japan and Korea. If I havent mentioned it it's probably becasue i've been too engrossed to take time to post.

The supprising thing about the games is how it's turned out to be the underdog's tournament with Senegal pipping the cup-holders and current #1 ranking, France. Yeah, Le Coq ne Sportif pas, afterall.

Even silly ol' USA managed to win some matches... hmm. I'm still watching... maybe it'll be an all-underdog final this time round?

And Oh... one of the reasons i've not been posting IS NOT "a girl" as Bubbles suggested by her comments on the post the one below this. [Dont bug me... i couldnt be bothered to link to it.]

The Eminem Show

I just Spent the last 3 hours or so finding the correct tracklist. Turned out i was looking in the wrong place since the tracklist is on the official website

Anyway i was able to download the tracks using by trying to think like other's and how they may name eminem files to avoid audiogalaxy blocking them [the files i mean]. I came up with a variated form of Marshal's nickname, MandM [try it]

I then used Winamp and MusicMatch Jukebox together to clean up the tags and name them right so i can play the tracks on my MP3/CD player as well. So there! I have The Eminem Show which i think is by far the best from Eminem.

I particularly like "Cleaning Out My Closet" where he sings:

"Mamma, I never meant to hurt you..." Nah dont think he's all apologetic... that's his sarcasm at work. I also like "Square Dance"... the tempo... the way he goes against the US Gov't .... the Bush administration [both of them!!] and how it's war-inclined....

And I find "Superman" the funniest... hell i love all the tracks. U cna bank on me having the CD in my player all of next week... and the next.... and the one after... and... i think you get the point.

Now lemme go check up on the Lewis/Tyson fight... Has Tyson fallen yet?

I know it may not be that big considering some websites get a million hits per month but i'm no Yahoo! or Hotmail... I've been runing this site since May 2001 and I've just hit the 50,000th milestone on hits.... cool huh?

I could only trace the person to their IP address and nothing further... I'll think of a system to alert the person who get the 100Kth hit and give 'em an award or something...

So I've been listening to Tweet's song... Oops! (Oh My) for about three weeks now. I've just remembered what i've put off posting here so many times: What d'u think she's talking about thru-out the song?

I say she's talking about female masturbation.... I think i should be called The Wank Song in line with Sisqo's The Thong Song.

Whispers: Is She In College?

I've been trying to avoid a girl in my college for the past month and so i'm having to ask: "Is that G?", "Have you seen G today?", "Hey i'm not going upstairs... i might see G".

Well today after taking the IT module 4 exam, i went into the cafeteria to get a sprite before leaving for home... and guess who i ran into? I felt so ... well sort of guilty... cant blame me. Some things i cant mention here happened and the best thing will be to run away from having to explain myself...

Luckily though she was surrouded by a buncha friends and it just wasnt the place to go with the "have you lost interest or something?" quiz.

I'm supposed to "meet" her tomorrow... God knows i wont be there. And i have a feeling she knows it.

Why's That?

This question has been eating for so long... years. Lotsa years. I think it only comes up again and again every summer.

Maybe it comes up becuase all the ladies go semi-naked on London's street... or maybe it's the heat getting to my head but why's it that all the cute girls are always on the opposite side at traffic lights.... i know i've been tempted to NOT cross and wait till they come so i find an excuse to chat 'em up.

I'm still thinking... i havent decided what i'll do the next time it happens again but i most probably wont do anything about it.... and then the summer will go away... and the ladies will cover up again... then it'll come back to me the next summer. What a bit of "showing leg" can do to a guy.

Suits Me, Sir?

Ok I'm going to be job hunting very soon and i'll need to get myself in a suit and tie one way or the other. I've never been a suit person... i'm more jeansy-rugged, open-shirted with a t-shirt under. Yeah that kindda person. But since i'm gonna be outta college soon and probably will need an administrative job, i'll need to change all that.

I went down to Wood Green Shopping Centre yesterday too look at a coupla suits and black shoes (i need one of those too). Anyway... them things are too expensive. I saw a coupla them going up to £199 each .... and that was a SALE. We'll see how i manage. If i do get into one of 'em... i'll update the photolog with some pictures.

Chapter Closed: No More College

I sort of graduated from college... I dont think there's gonna be any partying of fanfare but today i took my final paper. Unlike most of my mates though, i cant say I'm done with my college... that i dont have anything to do with them... 'cos I'm starting work there on Monday.

How crazy! I'm redesigning part of the college intranet. It's gonna take me the best part of three weeks to set everything right for them. I'm not gonna stay to maintain it so i have to make sure to document everything i do with comment tags in the HTML for when someone else is working on it.

Basically, I'll be working on revamping the Learning Resource Center (LRC's) webpages but it may expand to other pages if they think i did the work good enough.

Apart from than, the college is expanding it's classrooms and facilities... it'll need more computers and they have to be in place before the new students come in. They might need me to configure and fix some buggy PCs... so basically i'm booked for the summer.

That means I might not have to get that suit and tie afterall

and oh... even though it's not a graduation party.. there's going to be a Leavers' Barbeque at the college. No gatecrashers pleez. One last chance to stare into the eyes of that girl I've fancied kissing for two years. I probably wont see her again.
