Happy Independence Day

As a schoolkid in Ghana, I'da been doing this too. I guess now, if i were in Ghana, it'd be a night out TDB (Till Day Break).

I know there are a coupla Ghanaian parties going on in London tonight but i cant be arsed, plus I'm too tired to go partying. Ok I'll tell the truth... I'm staying in to play some Jet Set Radio Future. Yeah, you better understand the concept!!

By the way, what is everyone doing tonight or this weekend regarding the 46th Indy Celebrations. Oh just as an aside, I dont want any comments about "nyaa nyaa blah blah 46 years and what have we to show for it? Yadda yadda worlbank yadda Rawlings took all the money, blah blah we're so corrupt..." The answer simply is; You! A whiny pessimist.

Ok now in related news: What d'u think of Accra being rated 150th best city in the world? Did they go to Kaa Jaa Nó, Chorkor? They probably just went round Dansoman, Airport Res. Area etc. In any case, I wouldnt wanna live in the cities that fall below Accra... must be some pretty shitty places to be.

Week's Update

It looks like I'm posting less and less even though there's so much happening everyday. It all boils down to two basic reasons:

1. I love my job
2. I love my X-box

Nothing beats seeing the look on the face on my boss and my workmates when i come up with a new script to automate yet another process. I'm just loving it. Yesterday, the first request for an automation script from outside our department came in. I'm just loving it. I dont even take my full break sometimes especially when I'm working on a script. Its fun when you're actually paid to learn cos that's exactly what I'm doing. In no time I'll be very fluent in PowerTerm.

The Xbox. The same Xbox I thought i want gonna play much. That same Xbox I said I was only getting so I could watch DVDs and have the option of playing games occiasionally. Yeah that Xbox. I cant wait to get home in time to go Play Jet Set or Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. I watched 2 DVDs two nights ago and other days I've just spent playing JSRF mostly. By the way, I managed to "complete" it. Well i thought i'd completed it (because it told me, Yeah well done... you completed it and then it started rolling the credits. Anyone would think they completed it too) ... and then I thought... hey what happens if i try to load the saved "completed" game? You never know... there's more. Except this time there doesnt seem to be any kingpins to defeat or any Gangs to beat. Just racing some hidden characters.

Yeah so there.

Whiles I'm here, I better tell you (well almost) all that has happened this week:

1. I own a used HP Jornada 548 PDA. There was a charity auction for returned goods and stuff at work on Wednesday. I got it for less than half-price.

2. I'm wearing a ladies bracelet. I've been wearing it for 5 days now. Read more about it on tristorm.org

3. Ummm... I swear, I had so much to say when I was trying to sleep lastnight.

Of course that means I get some time off at the end of the week, but i dunno what on earth to do with it. We'll see.

In-vest We Trust

So 50 Cent is putting his money to good use they say. He bought his 6 year old son a cutom-made bulletproof vest.

Good luck Marquise. In other news, my sis came back from Ghana yesterday and Abe took her bracelet back. I dont miss it cos we never really bonded that well.

Where I Stand...

An entry I posted on Tristorm.org some weeks ago elicited this response:

make ur stand on the war with iraq clear or we boycott ur site. those irrelevant discussion on 'bracelet' shd be swapped with more detailing topics such as ...
Those trailing dots arent mine. That is the full comment. The first thing that came to my find was to repond to the comment and says "Fuck off!". And then I thought about it and realised that, with every idiot having an opinion about the war... it's kindda idiotic in some way not to have one.

Thing is... i'm not idiotic, cos i do have an opinion about the war. Just havent had time [been bothered to put it here]. I still stand by my "Fuck off!" reponse, in that when i decide to blog... i blog about what I want, what matters to me. What directly affects me.

The war in Iraq only affects me in the way that, some programmes i love to watch on TV might be replaced by "breaking news" from the war front. Or might be interrupted to make wat for a speech from Tony Blair. Yeah I'm like that. A selfish bastard.

Where do i stand on this war? Well, i can tell you for a fact that, whenever i read about or hear news about American troops and British troops being killed it makes me happy. Yeah. That's exactly what I meant to write. I live in the UK alright but the reason for war is the most absurd one I ever heard. Before the bombing stared I was hoping they would find a way to avoid going to war, but now that it's started... I hope the Americans lose this war.

I know that is unlikely to happen, so I'll settle for an equal number of the so called "Coalition forces" dieing for every Iraqi civilian killed. Last time i read the newspaper [this morning, there were over 90 civilian Iraqi deaths as opposed to 70+ Iraqi military deaths]... It seems all the predictions about civilians dieing werent lies.

As at now, the best news anyone can give the world today was if someone managed to pop off Bush. Another seemingly unlikely wish... but That could save many lives.

I've started rambling now... so I'll just stop here. And hope for more friendly fire incident... more tossed grenades into tents and more helicopters crashing. Because it looks like the school bullies are having a field day beating the shit out of the few little guys that try to stand up to them.

I hear hints of going after North Korea after this. I hope they have the guts to attack whichever countries plot to attack it first. Afterall, it'll only be a pre-emptive strike.

Retro-Dressing

Next week Friday (April 4th) is 60s and 70s day at work. Everyone is s'posed to tryi at least to bring their mojo, baby... and some peace mean... it's all about the peace too man.

The thing is, i wouldnt be caught dead dressing in any of the clothes from that era. I however find it appealing in that, i'll get to snap some pics and put 'em on here.

Unless i change my mind between now and then (and go shopping for 60s clothes)... i'll be going in normal Noughties clothes.

Peace, man. Yeah baby yeah!!
