Henry VIII (That's Eighth To You And I)

Well I didnt know it was Henry the 8th's birthday till i read it on Ornerypest. Nice bit of information... here's the bit i liked best.

He also standardized the English system of measurements. The foot was the length of his foot. The yard was the length of his outstretched arm. The acre was the amount of land his great bulk blotted out the sunlight from. The mile was the distance you could smell his body odor.

Now can someone prove or disprove the body odour claim? Oh and just so you know... this guy married 6 times. And got more than a few of them executed. Moslty for infidelity.

That unlucky stinking bastard!

UPDATE:

This site here says he was born on June 28. What's going on?

About King Henry VIII birthday, most reliable sources including the Encyclopedia Britannica list June 28. Shame on me for believing the first thing I come to without verifying it.

i have a stupid friend that believes King Henry the eighth wore a stool on his head for 3 months to prove his love to a girl... does anyone know if this has any truth or not? if you have an answer contact me at bree_murdock@hotmail.com

actually it was a "tool".

The girl in question had a lover who the king has castrated and his genitals removed.

It was this "tool" that the King wore on his head for nearly three months to prove his love for the girl.

In the end, the King gained the girl's heart and married her only to behead her 2 years into the marriage for cheating.

PS: I made it all up :p
