Going To Ghana

Yeah, so i made my choice. I'm going to Ghana. New York was so far ahead... i was even halfway through my compilation of people to visit and places to steer clear off. Then i asked my boss about getting a months holiday approved and got hit with "Well, i have to take it up with Paul. If he approves it, it'll need to be then taken up with personnel to cross reference it. I'll then get back to you with thier decision. It might take a month or two. It has to be a business decision"

While i'm flattered that i'm that valuable to the company, i wasnt about to go thru the beaurocracy of waiting for a holiday approved, then that for getting a visa approved. Also, the earlier i get my plane ticket the better.

So stuff New York i said. I'm handing my "formal letter" to request the holiday today so maybe within the next month or so i'll know the exact dates i'll be going, then i'll get my tickets. It'll then be set in stone.

Thanks to everyone that tried to sway my decision... after all that though, it all boiled down to me not liking so much hassle.

PS: Another good thing about going to Ghana is that i could take some driving lessons for a comparatively cheap price and only do a few top-up lessons once i get back to London

After The Tumble Down The Hill

I was in the bath today, singing (more like humming) along to feety's P.I.M.P when it suddenly dawned on me that i didnt know what happened to Jack and Jill after they came tumbling down the hill.

Maybe there was a second verse, but i can remember. I'm sure Jack wouldnt remember either... not after breaking "his crown". Must've been brain-dead or something.

And Jill, how stupid... did she have to do the same thing her brother ( i assume) did? Now what really ticks me off is ... what on earth were they doing up a hill in the first place? "To fetch a pail of water" was the reason... but that is the stupidest reason to go up a hill!!

Water flows downhill... you wouldnt find any on top of a hill. Well maybe if there is a well up there then fine. But if there WAS a well up there then how IRRESPONSIBLE are the people that sent them up there?!! Their parents? Someone call the child protection agencies.

Anyway.. so what happend after Jill stupidly thre herself downhill like her bro?

How about this for the second verse?

Call the ambulance to come an' pick up these two kids
Y'all need to carry they ass out
Do a hundred on the highway... but dont leave skids
Flash the lights and tae the road south
[yawwwwwwwwn... i'm tired you guys finish it in the comments]

Busted Heating/Delving Deeper into SQL

The heating in my house has not been working for the past 5 days... or so. Thing is i couldnt really be sure, because it's almost un-noticeable until you try to have a wash. Then you realise you have to go boil some water in the kettle.

Another way to notice is when doing the washing up. But i'm guilty; i dont do it often (even though my mom is screaming at me to wash my plate even before i'd finished with the last morsel of food). On those rare occasions when i really cant put up with the shouting... i'll do the washing up but i have this tendency to use only cold water.

It's really odd, cos the way i'm thinking we're paying so much for heating when it probably isnt necessary half of the time. I dont live alone, otherwise, i'd have tried living like this for a month just to see how much i could save.

It's not summer yet, so to be able to live like is really not what you expect. We probably pay more for heating in Summer than we would pay if the heating isnt fixed for a month.

On an unrelated related matter at work, it seems someone things i should be delving deeper into the Projects departments testing phase of any new systems they're gonna put out. Sure they'll be getting a bargain because this will be one tester that knows the frontend pterry well.

I've been writing scripts and designing processes for the frontend for the past year plus i dont come for an extra fee. The good out of all that for me is that, whiles my mates at uni are dealing with theoretical problems with businesses, i'm getting the real deal.

You know you're in with the big fish when they let you have a look at what's under the hood.

Aint life SO fair? Well, it's been with me for a while now... mostly.

[spellcheck forgone as always]

Duhh not the Sims, The Simpsons

So......
is anyone else addicted to the The Simpsons like i am?
Well all I can say is I am in love with all of em, their dysfunctional selves.

The genius thing about the show ( aside from the very concept of a messed up and yet typical loving family) is the way the storyline is set up.
Each show begins with a rather random occurence, or at least the story that is set up in the begining has very little to do with the story that pops up later. Sometimes, they are connected, yet it is in a wierd I-must-be-on-hash-hisch- sort-of-way.
Ohh well if you haven't seen an episode ever, check the Simpsons archive

Yea so I am celebrating randomness, uselessness and pointlessness....

-a random brownie post.
