Canine Africanus

Ok stop that sniffling and hold that thougut on the ass jokes. It's a remote latin word-play on "African Dog".

I'll give you an excerpt from RaggaeDancer's account of her recent trip to Ghana. She's white, American, never been to Ghana, just got married in Ghana [to a Ghanaian] so it's really quite a useful point of view that she tells her story from.

My favorite part of the whole account:

My husband fed the resident dog (whom no body claimed) chicken bones. I explained to him that chicken bones are not good for dogs because they are brittle and crack and can splice off into slivers and [lodge] into the dogs esophogus or stomach lining causing internal bleeding and bacterial infections leading to an eventually slow and painful death if not taken to the vet to be treated. My husband and his cousin started laughing and said, NOT an African dog!

See now, RaggaeDancer... you've just gone and given them reason to stop feeding the bones to the dogs now. How mean!

Pockface

So last weekend, while i Manchester, I decided to try out one of those 3-head Phillips shavers. Normally i would go unshaved but i was desperately in need of a shave and i dont quite enjoy looking like a tramp... Abe on the other hand prefers me unshaved.

Anyway... ignoring her advice i had that shave and fell in love with the shaving system. It's got swappable heads.. one for getting the chin trimmed down to size and the other to make my face look like a baby's bottom.

The problem i'm having now is that the pus-filled, pimply... bump thingies have appeared just where the hair ends and my neck begins!

There's a stong urge to try to pop them but i know it'll get worse if i do so i'm tryinna ignore them... plus it hurts from when Abe popped the initial ones.

I dunno... but will this experience stop be from going shopping for a Phillishave Coolskin? Probably not... i'll just get some cream for treating the chin before shaving next time and hope my skin adjusts to it.

Maybe... just maybe, you'll be less likely to catch me looking like a tramp.

On Marriage and Exes

Just got off the phone with Linda (my first girlfriend -- read "My Past" for more info)... The phone didnt get answered quickly and when it was, it was there was this loud music in the background.

She was all laughing and recognised my voice instanlty. We said out hello... well what could say over the music and i asked what she was up to...

She was getting engaged. For those that are wondering engagments in Ghana require a full blown party and i've seems some precede a wedding my a few days. Somehow in her case, the guy isnt even around. He's in the US, but that dont stop a party does it?

Yup so my first girlfriend is almost there. Makes me feel so old! Lol.. i know she's amlost 2 years older than me but still it's scaring me now.

I've been saying for almost a year now how it freaks me out that a lot of my friends are getting married or are planing it. And before you say "oh the girls always get married earlier" ... i've got about 4 male friends that are getting married soonish or are already.

I dont think i'm ready to be going out clubbing with say... "Max and his wife" .... it sounds.. sorta odd!

When i went to Ghana for instance i hung out with Linda for a coupla days. Well she was ouside the country initially so i didnt get to see her till i was almost coming back...

But i s'pose the next time i see her she'll be someone's wife so i'll have to steer clear of her.

Hmm... I dunno what Abe will say about this, but I'm currently not very comfortable with the idea of being married and having a wife.. y'know the works. Or maybe it's because my friends are all 2 years or older than me.

I s'pose in 2 years I'll also hear the call of the..... whatever it is.

Soap VS Liquid Soap

Ok yell at me if you think i'm posting one too many entries on my grooming habits.

Anyway, i've just had a really coldish shower with [tablet?] soap as opposed to liquid soap and i'm feeling very fresh. So much that i think i might have the really much needed rest for going back to uni in the morning.

I dunno what it is about soap but i think the fragrance sticks more and moreso it reminds me of Ghana. I had the option of using liquid palmolive for these past few days i find myself going for the other option... i dunno what brand it is but it does really smell good and leaves me feeling fresher than normal.

Anyway... wish me luck people. Back to uni with a new timetable to deal with and a disrupted work schedule for the first week or so.

Smell me later. (Actually you would smell the soap, not me)
