I was adding a comment on that issue but then I decided it needed and entry of its own.

First of all Eme... as you may already have read... it's a joke.... and its also not a joke.

A webring is like a clique... you need to fall into a category to be part of it. What we're trying to create here is a webring to promote Ghanaian personal websites out there. Even though it might be exclusive to Ghanaian personal websites, a site may be let in if it is not commercial and has a theme relating to Ghana.

There are numerous such cliques out there. Its all discrimination and I cant ask to join, for example "Aussie Blogz". Cos even though I keep a blog it has no Aussie theme not am I living in Australia.

Its not a big deal. The big deal is that, I did not try to sugarcoat the intentions of anyone who starts a webring. The basis of it all is to keep it exclusive so as to make it prestigious for those people who fall in that category to want to join.

Even if you qualify... you might be turned down anyway cos the moderator doesnt like your site design... content.. fonts used... it's endless the way they try to keep people out.

Now when I say: "GH Ring: Unequal Opportunities for Everyone" ... I do mean it. I'm not gonna let anyone in just because they have a website with a Ghanaian flag on it... that would be in the spirit of keeping a webring... but then it'll also be descrimination wont it?

After GH Ring, I'm thinking of starting GH Blogz.... now just imagine someone being in GH Ring ... but getting turned down for GH Blogz cos their site is not a journal... it's just fair.

But of course eme, u'll always be let into any group I moderate cos the moderator has the final say... and I know you love Ghanaians and the whole world.

Hi FAF,
Thanks for the explanation and clarification. I appreciate that, and your welcoming me too :). I'll repeat, I concede.....consider me "lightened up" and enlightened. Guess the mere mention of the word discrimination set me off. Love your site, no " ".

Faf, we all know that Webrings are discriminatory. That's the whole basis for a web ring. Therefor it would just be repetitive. Lets think of something catchy and less obvious.
