Always From The Other Side

Can anyone tell me why at the traffic lights all the cute girls at the other side of the road? I dunno If i would actually chat someone i meet at the traffic lights up but just for a change... let the cute girl be at my side instead of be coming from the other side of the road.

I've thought of looking at them long enuff for them tp get the hint and standing there when the lights change for them to come. And then i also picture then walking by and looking at me like a tramp of some sort with nowhere to go... or a car-window cleaner. So I dont.
