The ticket was booked for 27th November at 10pm. I was s'posed to be working on that day up till 9pm in High Barnet, which wouldnt have given me time to get to St. Pancras Station. The plan was to feign an illness of some sort at 8pm and leave work an hour earlier to give me ample time to make it there. Turned out i didnt have to afterall since i lost that telesales job due to circumstances i might go inot later on the Monday before.
So there's me spending all of Monday, Tuesday and the most part of Wednesday looking forward to going to Nottingham again. It stuck up on me too cos before i knew i was leaving and i didnt really have much time to tell you guys. Anyway, i didnt have much time spare to update the site anyway. And with good reason too! Plus, you'da noticed my site was "put on hold" for a while due to my bandwidth limit being reached. I'm getting too populer for my own good.
Anyway here's a break down of the whole week. If there are any obvious gaps in there, you know what fill it in with ;-)

Mon. 25th, Nov
Kweku Mante, had borrowed my camera for some Uni work the previous week and i needed to get it back before i left London. He lives in Plaistow, East London. His place isnt so far but whenever i go there i spend too much time talking that it becomes imperative to spend the night. Even had time to watch this cheesy bitch-borg chinese movie called Robotrix.
Tues. 26th, Nov I got back home at around 10pm on Tuesday. With the camera alright, but somehow i managed to leave the USB cable and the drivers CD. I had to find a way of getting those back since i only had my one 16MB SmartMedia card. That meant if it got full at any time during my stay in Notts., i woudlnt be able to get it off the cam onto a PC and clear it for more pictures.
Mante and I devised a plan that would allow me to collect it from him at work in Mark & Spencer's @ Holloway. There also was the contingency plan that he would mail it to me at Abe's in Notts.
Spent the rest of the evening cramming stuff into that same bag i used as hand-luggage for my flight from Accra to London 3years ago.
Weds. 27th, Nov
Woke up quite early. The postman roused me with a loud thud. Most of it was junkmail BTW but one item in there was for By The Light of the Moon, the new Dean Koontz novel. Early for me in these circumstances was around 10am. I had a train to catch in 12hours and a much earlier 4pm schedule to meet Mante near Holloway Road Station to collect my USB cable.
My sister is going back to Ghana by the end of this week [Sunday, 15th Dec] and was shipping her stuff today so i had to help with packing of her stuff as well. i nipped over to my brothers to quickly finish downloading of the new Busta album, It Ain't Safe No More. I didnt have a chance to listen to any of the tracks though but i burnt the CD anyway and left me just enough time to go collect my cable and disk at around 4.30pm.
I got back home at around 5pm, did some final packing and started with some TV. My current reading was Executive Orders by Tom Clancy but i thought i'd save reading for that hour and a half journey to Nottingham.
I thought i'd cook Abe a meal when i got there so when my Mum got back from work i asked for her recipe for Jollof Rice and i had a go at it. it turned out good but i didnt have the chance to have any before leaving for St. Pancras. I was well prepared for the 5days - give or take one afternoon - in Nottingham.
Arriving half an hour earlier than my train was supposed to leave was just as planned. There werent any obvious in the timtable and so i just waited for the train to begin boarding at about 5mins to 10. I was sat in front on these women. Fiftyish. The one sitting right in front of me seemed to find nothing wrong with rubbing her legs against mine every few minutes. i thought people were s'posed to apologize the first time for something like that so you can go "Oh, dont worry. It's alright." Or could it be the fact that i tried as much as possible not to make any eye contact with either of them? I know that's got me into trouble before.
I read most of the way. I had my earphones on as well with Busta Rhymes blazing me with the remix of Make It Clap feat. Spliff Star and Sean Paul among others.
The journey went very quick 'cos i was reading most of the time. Abe was waiting for me at the station. That was the first time i'd seen her with braids. Gorgeous surprise. It was midnite already though so i guess the date needs updating
Thurs., 28th Nov
We got a cab to Raleigh Park and i remember thinking... "Hmm, cab fares are cheap in Nottingham, arent they?!" Anyway I was in Notts now... and errr, I was tired so I went to sleep ;). We had, afterall, a lecture in the morning.
Early Morning, I went into Abe's lectures with her. I wouldnt say i was cut out for a degree in Medicine but it didnt seem so difficult afterall when i was in there. i guess it only becomes that difficult after you've been at it for a year and it becomes relentless. But I do have tucked now in my brain a lot of what the general population shouldnt know about Embolus, Infarction and Thrombosis. it's funny how the body is its own worst enemy. We spend so much time trying to stay alive but it seems from birth our body is bent on killing us. It'll suceed in the long run too. Yeah maybe, a car crash will speed it up some but probably not by much with the way it seems the body is built. Too complex for its own good.
I also got to meet Jo and Andy for the first time. The resident lovebirds at Raleigh park I s'pose. i met Jo first in the lecture. She's Abe's flatmate. One of many thought they seem to get along best. She Ghanaian too and was looking to learn some twi from me. Sounded like she didnt need it afterall, she knew quite a lot to not starve to death when you put her in a Twi-speaking village somewhere in Techiman.
Anyway, later that evening, Abe and I went to see 28 Days Later... My new found interest in all things British. That's one of the many British based films I've seen in quite a short while. I loved it, i dunno about Abe though. You better ask her.
Fri., 29th Nov
Abe didnt have to go to lectures she said. I think she just wanted to bunk them. Anyway the day began late. Sometime in the afternoon. i dunno but the day did pass by quick too. We were s'posed to be dining with some friends of Abe, Jo and Andy so I was looking forward to it. It was set for 7pm but actually started a bit later. There were 6 of us, including Matt and Diana. It was some indian cuisine that Jo and Andy whipped up. I loved it... actually I didnt think there was enough. Yo Andy... next time make more on that Chicken Tikka!
Next on the agenda was a night out to a house partying and then to clubbing. The house party was hosted Gwen, unless i'm mistaken [see, i'd had a few drinks during the course of the night]. Normally at parties when you meet someone you know the question crops up; "Where do you know [blah] from?" and it's like "oh... a friend of my sister's best friend" or something similar. But I guess you never heard this one before, "I know someone that shagged her". Okayyy.... next topic!
We left the House Party and headed for the town centre. To The Zone. I'd lost track of time by now. Abe didnt wanna go there cos apparently the music was cheesy 80's pop. I think it wasnt that bad afterall and she changed me mind too. The club was a two-tiered one with Palais on the top and The Zone below... they had this sort of basement thing going. Palais deserved to be described as 80's pop cheese more than The Zone if you ask me. i didnt know any one of the songs they played. There was some trance. Which i only think is enjoyable in a drug-induced trance-like state. But that's besides the point. I's still not regained my sense of time but i think we left the club at around 4am. Might be wrong though. Abe?
Sat., 30 Nov
Another late-beginnig day. Understandably from the previous nite's partying. I intended to blog today, not that it would have been any lengthy cos Abe just wouldnt let me. Anyway, my site topped it's bandwidth and was turned off by my hosts, Page-Zone, for the rest of the month which in essence meant for a few hours since the month was almost over.
Sometime in the evening we borrowed 3 videos from Blockbustter and got we some Pizza as well. The plan was to stay up all night. Dog Soldiers, It's All About the Benjamins and 13 Ghosts. That's 2 horror flicks and a comedy. Abe and I both watched the comedy, starring Ice Cube, but she slept halfway thru 13 Ghosts. Maybe she was too scared. We left the other video, which involved Werewolves in the Scottish Highlands, for Sunday.
Sun., 1st Dec
This would my last fullday in Nottingham this visit. Frankly i cant remember much of the day was spent but one thing i remember thought was trying to cook some Jollof Rice for us. That was the plan anyway, but Abe almost took over and turned it inot Rezotti. Rizetto? Rossetti? Rose-Anne? Riz-something anyway! But i liked it anyway... at least i helped cook it.
Sometime earlier in the day, I'd complained about my site no being up yet even though it was morning in the US where the servers were. Jim, the tech guy at Page-Zone, had it fixed in no time and even turned up my bandwidth allowance a bit. Talk about good customer service! And beyond!
I know i was s'posed to bealeaving in the morning and was s'posed to pack, but i thought i could live the last few hours to the max and worry about the rest of the stuff at the last minute.
We triend watching Dog Soldiers later in the night but once again Abe slept... this time right at the beginning. I finished watching it... went to sleep.
Mon., 2 Dec
Next thing i know Abe says it's time to wake up. Ok so i quickly folde my shit and stuffed it in my bag. Abe called a cab. My train was leaving at 10.30am, it was already 10am. So here's me all ready. Now where the fuck is that return ticket? Hmm... How convenient! I couldnt find that ticket. And guess what else?? I couldnt find my monthly buspass for london as well.
Within the next 10 minutes it was decided that i had to cancel the cab, get a new ticket and leave later in the day. By coach. Oh... and a few minutes after that i found the ticket. Under a desk. Then the buspass another coupla seconds after that. Under a carpet. By then it was 10.32am and Abe had a lecture at 11am
I went with her to her lecture. I think it was on Infarction. Which, by the way, means death of tissue or an organ due to loss of blood to it. Ok that was my understanding of it at that time andi havent bothered reading more about it. Plus i managed to leave my lecture notes behind. So dont blame me if that definition wasnt entirely accurates.
Oh and did i forget to tell you the lecturer was J. Lowe? Geddit, J. Lowe, J. Lo? Abe missed the next lecture though cos we had to go back to Raleigh Park to get her card since mine was an Electron and wasnt accepted by the coach company. Funny though we had almost two hours between the end of the first lecture and the next, whiles Ralaeigh Park is only 20mins from the lecture theatres
Anyway, i booked me a coach for 6.30pm between missing the 2nd lecture and going to the final one. The 3rd and final lecture for the day was from 4 till 5pm and it was getting close to when i was s'posed to be leaving. We got back to Raleigh Park in no time tho. Abe even had some time to make me wash the dishes from the previous night.
The cab we called was taking too long in coming so we got another one that had just dropped someone off and went off to Broadmarsh Coach Station. The coach was a bit late but it was a problem for me at all. I wasnt in any hurry to leave and Abe didnt want me to leave anyway. Needless to say it was apparently against the rules to have a visitor staying with you in University accommodation for more than 4 nights. I'd stayed 5nights already.
At around 6.45pm the coach set off for London. A 3 and a half hour journey. I read thru most of it but my nect started to ache and i tried to sleep some. This cute little girl sitting in front of me continued to stare at me all thru the journey. I'd wave sometimes but i was scared to overdo it. Next thing you know i'm on the sex-offenders list. Pity how this country has been ruined by such evil. You cant even be nice to lil cute girls anymore without their parents suspecting you of being a perv of some sort.
Anyway, 10pm. I'm in London. Victoria Coach Station. I didnt wanna get out more money on my card to but a train ticket, so i buy me a 60p child's ticket with the pound that Abe dropped in my pocket.
In another 45mins, i was home. I had a box waiting for me. It was my new Epson Stylus C42UX. It works a treat. They even thought to include some Photo Inkjet Paper. I tried printing one of me and Abe's pics and it looks quite good. Takes a rather long time to print though and i dont plan on getting harcopies of the 500+ pictures i've taken with my FinePix A201.
Tues., 3rd Dec
I slept thru most of the day. Gainnig my strength back. Blatantly. Blatantly. Reading some newspapers to catch up on the rest of the world. Even watched the news some.
Later in the day, i was getting hungry and i thought i'd make good use og my newfound culinary skills. Cook me some jollof rice. It was all working accroding to plan until i forgot to turn the gas down low after i put the rice in. Hmm... i got me some burnt rice, but i was quick thinking enough to get a new pot and transfer the rice into it. It came out tops. Actually i think i'ma do that more
Today
Abe just called me to tell me to blog, blog, blog la! Apparently some people are worroed about where i am. She forgot to change the "name" bit from the tagboard from when i'd used it on her laptop. I hope she hasnt told any porkies about me. Hmm... ok, i think i'll post this now.
Just to let you know... i still havent unpacked my stuff.

hey you cant have too much juice. pulp is good too.
Certain ppl were making a certain amount of noise in the bathroom (as noise is amplified in there). The bathroom happens to be right next to a flatmate's room which disturbs them.
No dirty things implied in that!
My thoughts are going in a tousand different directions right now. What does THAT mean?
We were talking in the bathroom at 12 midnight, and the noise was amplified.
Riiiight... talking! Uhuh!
