An entry[1] I posted on Tristorm.org[2] some weeks ago elicited this response:

make ur stand on the war with iraq clear or we boycott ur site. those irrelevant discussion on 'bracelet' shd be swapped with more detailing topics such as ...
Those trailing dots arent mine. That is the full comment. The first thing that came to my find was to repond to the comment and says "Fuck off!". And then I thought about it and realised that, with every idiot having an opinion about the war... it's kindda idiotic in some way not to have one.

Thing is... i'm not idiotic, cos i do have an opinion about the war. Just havent had time [been bothered to put it here]. I still stand by my "Fuck off!" reponse, in that when i decide to blog... i blog about what I want, what matters to me. What directly affects me.

The war in Iraq only affects me in the way that, some programmes i love to watch on TV might be replaced by "breaking news" from the war front. Or might be interrupted to make wat for a speech from Tony Blair. Yeah I'm like that. A selfish bastard.

Where do i stand on this war? Well, i can tell you for a fact that, whenever i read about or hear news about American troops and British troops being killed it makes me happy. Yeah. That's exactly what I meant to write. I live in the UK alright but the reason for war is the most absurd one I ever heard. Before the bombing stared I was hoping they would find a way to avoid going to war, but now that it's started... I hope the Americans lose this war.

I know that is unlikely to happen, so I'll settle for an equal number of the so called "Coalition forces" dieing for every Iraqi civilian killed. Last time i read the newspaper [this morning, there were over 90 civilian Iraqi deaths as opposed to 70+ Iraqi military deaths]... It seems all the predictions about civilians dieing werent lies.

As at now, the best news anyone can give the world today was if someone managed to pop off Bush. Another seemingly unlikely wish... but That could save many lives.

I've started rambling now... so I'll just stop here. And hope for more friendly fire incident... more tossed grenades into tents and more helicopters crashing. Because it looks like the school bullies are having a field day beating the shit out of the few little guys that try to stand up to them.

I hear hints of going after North Korea after this. I hope they have the guts to attack whichever countries plot to attack it first. Afterall, it'll only be a pre-emptive strike.

I am an american that hopes we lose this war... it is funny that most of the troops have been killed in accidents or by each other.

I think i did a good job getting you on an edge to add diversity to ur site. 'WHERE I STAND ...' was as neccesary as the war itself not because ur views would reflect any major change in world politics but it gets you into serious business. It gets people to know if they have any hero out there whose thought might be retrospective some time in the future. However where you stand on this subject matter, it has little effect on the common man on the street in irag or else where. The fact of the case is that people in western countries narrowed to the so-called 'coalition forces' would be benefitting from this war. It's about oil, it's about job creation, it's about investment, it's about creating some kind of market. All these goes to make ur life better. If ur favourite programmes are being swapped with breaking news and it gets you pissed then that does not make you selfish, it just makes you blatantly arrogant, insensitve to the plight of thousands of lives on both side of the fighting divide that would be lost just to promote some hidden agenda. You could make a change by developing some positive attitude towards the cause of life and carefully analysing issues in our contemporary world.

and THAT, is coming from my cousin.

My reply:
My comments dont have a "little effect" on the common iraqi.... it has ABSOLUTELY no effect.

Far more sensible people than i am have spoken against this war but it seems the Bush admin are prepared to ignore anyone.

Now that's arrogant.

About investment... making my life better... and so on... at whose expense is that?

The way i see it... life was going on positively until Bush won (or was it stole his way?) that election.

Thanks cuz.

That response goes for some five thumbs.

Constructive criticism was undoubtedly needed.

The war with Iraq has some element of truth in it, that was why they named it 'Operation free Iraq'.

What people around the world fear is a lauch of Jihad that could lead to a clash of civilazation. With the French and Germans closer to the middle east, that was a much wise decision to pretend to block any resolution that comes with disarmemt by force. They were smart, otherwise they would need to ask the israelites how they have lived with people who have never asked their leaders to be the first suicide bombers. I thought leadership is always by example.
