Yeah, so i made my choice. I'm going to Ghana. New York was so far ahead... i was even halfway through my compilation of people to visit and places to steer clear off. Then i asked my boss about getting a months holiday approved and got hit with "Well, i have to take it up with Paul. If he approves it, it'll need to be then taken up with personnel to cross reference it. I'll then get back to you with thier decision. It might take a month or two. It has to be a business decision"

While i'm flattered that i'm that valuable to the company, i wasnt about to go thru the beaurocracy of waiting for a holiday approved, then that for getting a visa approved. Also, the earlier i get my plane ticket the better.

So stuff New York i said. I'm handing my "formal letter" to request the holiday today so maybe within the next month or so i'll know the exact dates i'll be going, then i'll get my tickets. It'll then be set in stone.

Thanks to everyone that tried to sway my decision... after all that though, it all boiled down to me not liking so much hassle.

PS: Another good thing about going to Ghana is that i could take some driving lessons for a comparatively cheap price and only do a few top-up lessons once i get back to London

Presumably if you are a Ghanaian national you could actually take your test in Ghana and then get it converted over to a UK/EU license? I'm thinking it would be much easier to get a pass in Ghana?!!
BTW. Simsola - exactly what is so useless about England!!!?! ;-)

Do I scream or yell? I presume my vote didn't do much to sway you but I'm still glad it went in the right direction. I'm even more excited that you haven't forgotten home sweet home. That's one big vote for your top gh sites. Sometimes, I get really mad at folks who leave and forget that they were once a part of a noble heritage.

One little word of advice, if I may dare to offer; do not have too high expectations otherwise you may not enjoy the Chorkor breeze too well.

And oh, get ready for some exciting time blogging from Ghana when the comps take hours to download and and power outages are as unpredictabe as the mosquito bites. Boy, you'll have lots of fun:-)

Guess what, I'm learning how to drive so you may want to hire me to give you lessons
:-0. It really isn't that big of a deal ... unless you mess up.

Don't get me wrong o. What i meant by England being useless is that all one does is work & noone to talk to that u can call friends, unlike back home that even ur neighbours know where r u. Africa's very vibrant despite all the economic & political we're facing there. Home sweet Home. I'm so happy to be going home for a month and seeing a different well-known environment for a change. :)
N.B: i'm thinking of doing more driving lessons back home as well.
