Ok stop that sniffling and hold that thougut on the ass jokes. It's a remote latin word-play on "African Dog".
I'll give you an excerpt from RaggaeDancer's account of her recent trip to Ghana. She's white, American, never been to Ghana, just got married in Ghana [to a Ghanaian] so it's really quite a useful point of view that she tells her story from.
My favorite part of the whole account:
See now, RaggaeDancer... you've just gone and given them reason to stop feeding the bones to the dogs now. How mean!

Hi Faf...laughed a lot while reading R/D's accounting of her trip. It brought back memories of my own trip to Ghana. I did eat bush meat, but never saw it other than in the cooking pot or I might have had second thoughts. Anyway, it was fun reading and if she is strong and diverse then I too will join her :). Ghana is an enlightening and also wonderful experience. I visited so many places..saw so much..tell her to go to Paga and see the crocodiles..lol. I too had a great time in Ghana..will never forget the trip or my friends there. Congratulations on your marriage R/D if you see this. I could write many stories about my own time spent in Ghana...feels like yesterday...take care, Faf :).
Gee, I always thought that "chicken bones kill dogs" was a myth. My dad always said that chicken bones make a dog's fur shiny, but now that I know the truth I guess I'll have to stick to giving my dogs steak bones and be grateful that they've survived this long. Thanks for updating, and the interesting tidbits (now I know what to expect if I ever have an African dog). Will have to read the whole account soon.
