I think i'm too nice. I've been mentally catalouging all instances when random strangers people have picked me out of everyone in a room/bus-stop/bus/shop/train platform to ask me for help/change/directions. Whereas people usually are supposed to avoid as much eye contact as possible in most places they go... i tend to find people look at me and smile.
Sometimes my eraction reaction is to look behind me with the "you couldnt possibly be smiling at me" look. Well the good thing with all of this i guess is that i dont get any unwarranted attention from any guys... well when i do it mostly old men with walking sticks and a hunchback [maybe not the latter]. I suppose those dont count cos old people talk and smile at everyone right?
Sometime last week, i was sporting these new HUGE headphones (Sennheiser HD 280 Pro[1]) i picked up to replace my stolen misplaced Sennheiser PX200s. They're almost comical and i do feel like a prat wearing them but they're my first high end headphones and boy are they worth it. It's like rediscovering your music all over again.
Anyway, back on track again. First day i wear these mofos and a coupla people stop me asking about it and whether they could have a listen. Most of these was at work with people i know by face but have never actually talked to, but then on the tube i get stopped by two girls that used the headphones as a premise to start a conversation then went on to ask where i live, whether i had a girlfriend etc.
The most recent instance happened on bank holiday weekend. Abe was craving Buger King so she drove us round to get us some. We'd received our order and were leaving when some other girl in the shop comes up to me, leans to the side and uses my arms to hold herself up to grab some ketchup satchets. All without saying a single word to me. Like i'm not even there. Grr.
So whaddya think? Maybe i should try to be mean? Scare people off a bit?
